The Ulsterman Report: Obama’s Disgusting Disparity – Fort Hood -vs.- Tucson

A little more than a year ago, the nation dealt with a similar tragedy – at least in scope of lives lost and/or irreparably damaged, to that which took place the past week in Tucson Arizona.  The Fort Hood massacre saw Nidal Mialik Hasan, an American-born Muslim serving in the U.S. military, open fire on his fellow soldiers – all the while shouting “Allahu Akbar”. (God is great – the very phrase utilized by the 9/11 terrorists)

Hours after the tragedy that left American servicemembers dead and wounded on U.S. soil, a nation waited for word from its president.  When that word came, it left even members of President Obama’s supporters stunned and perplexed by both the tone and temperament of Obama’s passing mention of the Fort Hood tragedy.  Obama’s own hometown Chicago newspaper described the president’s performance as “frightening insensitivity” and an “awful moment for Barack Obama”.  The president’s first public statements following the Fort Hood Massacre said absolutely nothing of the event. Instead, he proceeded to give a joking “shout out” to “Dr. Joe Medicine Crow – that Congressional Medal of Honor winner.”  Several minutes went by before Obama made mention of the Fort Hood tragedy, and even then the remarks were oddly subdued and detached.

President Obama, the nation’s Commander in Chief, did not make an appearance at Fort Hood until November 10th – almost a week after the shootings.  In the intervening days between the shootings and the president’s visit to the military base, both his administration, Democrats, and the media urged caution in speculating what Hassan’s motivations were, even as evidence mounted that the attack was clearly politically motivated –   Muslim leaders in Syria called Hassan a hero in the war against America.  In an interview given to ABC the night prior to the Fort Hood memorial, President Obama refused to use the term terrorist – and even dismissed the attack with the following: In a country of 300 million people…There are going to instances, uh, in which, uh, an individual cracks.     A week later it was being reported Obama was urging fellow Democrats in Congress to delay investigations into the Fort Hood shootings until preliminary investigations had been completed, further justifying the criticism that Republicans and some Democrats were stating regarding the president’s rather nonchalant attitude over the deadly attack by a Muslim extremist on an American military base.

Now fast-forward to the president’s almost immediate response to the more recent events in Tucson.  Within an hour of the story breaking, President Obama made his first somber public statement regarding the events. FBI Director Robert Mueller was promptly dispatched to the scene.  The following day the president led a national moment of silence for the victims of the tragedy.  And as many in the media, Democratic Party, and figures such as Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik blamed the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Limbaugh, Republicans, etc. for helping to somehow instigate the shooting in Tucson, Obama voiced no urging of caution, or made any statement dismissing the shooter as simply one among 300 million who had “lost it.”  In fact, Obama took time to personally thank the belligerent Sheriff Dupnik for his service – the same Sheriff Dupnik who almost immediately following the shootings took to the stage to turn the tragedy into a political platform for immigration and a full on denunciation of almost all things conservative.  Click on the video to get the far left background that is Sheriff Dupnick – who as a sheriff sworn to uphold the law of his state, refused to do just when it came to enforcing the then newly passed (and highly popular) immigration law – calling the immigration law and its enforcement ”stupid and racist”.

So while it is clear President Obama treated the killing and wounding  of 43 U.S. military and civilians at Ford Hood with comparable indifference in relation to his response to the Tucson Tragedy, it is far less clear as to why.

What is motivating President Obama to react so differently to such tragic events?

The fact such a question is so easily asked of Obama by many Americans does not bode well for a nation’s true trust of the man currently inhabiting the White House and responsible for both leading and protecting this nation and its people…

The Ulsterman Report: Once Again, Sarah Palin Emerges Stronger

The script had been formulated long before the first bullet of deranged shooter Jared Lee Loughner rang out just outside a Safeway in Tucson Arizona last week.  The liberal wing of the Democratic Party, still gnashing their teeth over the rebuke against them in the November Midterm Elections, were desperate for a scapegoat.  The equally liberal media were only too happy to assist them by once again failing to actually report the facts, but rather quickly make those facts up to more fully coordinate with the much-desired outcome – that the shooting in Arizona was the result of rightwing bigotry, vitriol, rhetoric…etc.

The primary target of these attacks, once again, was Sarah Palin.

It remains a mystery why Palin so enrages the left.  From one side of their mouth they attempt to marginalize her as an inconsequential moron, some Alaskan redneck former beauty pageant breeder of too many children.  At the same time, they declare her dangerous, cunning, a too-powerful figure corrupting the minds of mainstream America.  The many contradictions contained within the liberals’ hatred (yes, I am using that word – because it is appropriate) of Sarah Palin willfully goes unnoticed by them.  They simply march on, gleeful in their collective and repeated attacks against the former governor of Alaska.  Sarah Palin is a woman.  Sarah Palin is a conservative. Sarah Palin is Pro-Life.  Sarah Palin is pro-gun rights.  Sarah Palin talks of her love of God and country. Sarah Palin has the audacity to openly (and effectively) mock liberalismWe must destroy her.

And so on that terrible day last week in Tucson, these same liberals, politicians and media figures alike, grabbed from the same script and pointed to Sarah Palin as the murder weapon.  The deserving evidence?  Non-existent of course – but in the odd and emotionalized world of the liberal mind, evidence and facts are mere suggestions – the outcome is the only thing that truly matters.  Destroy Sarah Palin – by any means necessary.  For by destroying Sarah Palin, by blaming her for the killings in Tucson, liberals hoped to destroy the Tea Party, and the now growing conservative movement throughout the United States.  Grandiose you say?  Perhaps – but it is also true.

First to the scene were the liberal bloggers such as Daily Kos who took a map Palin utilized months ago targeting specific districts in the November elections.  This kind of map is nothing new, having been used by both Democrats and Republicans a number of times in the past.  The DNC utilized just such a map in 2004, and longtime Democratic Party strategist Bob Beckel admitted such mapping and the term “targeting” has been around as long as he has been in politics – and ironically, the Daily Kos had “targeted” Giffords’ district most recently, as they felt she was far too conservative to be trusted.  A long rant on the Kos blog stated repeatedly that Giffords was “dead” due to her vote against Nancy Pelosi.

The mainstream media though happily took its cue from the far left liberal bloggers and pushed ahead with the Palin election map.  Look!  Palin is the true killer!  Even as mounting evidence suggested the shooter had nothing to do with the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Fox News, or even politics as a whole, the media persisted.  Even though Congresswoman Giffords was well known by her District and inside the Beltway as a political moderate who had most recently voted against Nancy Pelosi as House Leader, the media persisted.  Even as former friends of Jared Loughner described him as a liberal radical who blamed former President Bush for 9/11, the media persisted.  ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC – all of them, hour after hour, insinuated the shooting was the by-product of conservative rhetoric, with Sarah Palin being held up as the prime example.  Far left New York Times columnist Paul Krugman made the case against Palin with his typical vacuous snideness, blanketing conservatives with the description of “hate mongers”.  John Nichols of The Nation was even more misleading with the facts than most, forging a full on misrepresentation of Jared Loughner as a far-right extremist upset over Giffords’ vote for Obamacare and taking cues from Palin’s now infamous statement that conservatives should not retreat but “reload” when battling liberalism.  Here is a video showing the appalling contradiction of media coverage regarding the Arizona shootings vs the Fort Hood massacre of a year earlier:

And what is the outcome of all of this concerted effort by far left liberals to portray Sarah Palin and conservatism as the cause of the Tucson Tragedy?  If anything, liberals have simply managed to once again further marginalize themselves in the eyes of America.  Conservatives are rallying to defend Palin, and with polls indicating the vast majority of the public recognizes the liberal slant blame-game that has been the coverage following the shooting, so too are many independents ignoring the liberal media and Democratic politicians.

As for Sarah Palin herself, she has again emerged a stronger figure than before.  Even Barack Obama, during his speech at this week’s Tucson memorial service, seemingly sided with Palin in dismissing the Far Left’s attempts to place blame outside of the singular actions of a deranged gunman.  Whether or not Sarah Palin can develop into a viable Republican candidate for President of the United States remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – as an ever-popular conservative voice, she will not be silenced.  She will repeatedly prove her worth in battling the liberal horde and revealing the insipid hatred always bubbling beneath the surface that is the mainstream media and DC politics.

Don’t retreat Sarah.

The Ulsterman Report: Was Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ Shooter a Liberal Extremist?

Jarred Loughner: Age 22

What occurred on Saturday, January 8th was a terrible tragedy.  Six people left dead, including a child, and moderateDemocrat Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords fighting for her life following a gunshot wound to her head.  The alleged shooter, 22 year old Jared Lee Loughner, is now being investigated by local, state, and federal authorities for motive.

Ah, but leave it to the mainstream media and certain Democrats to fire up the political motive machine post haste following the tragedy in an attempt to lay blame on conservative Americans for the shooting – even as mounting evidence points to a man clearly suffering from mental instability, and if anything, far left political inclinations.

Loughner produced a handful of YouTube videos which reveal a mind producing near-incoherent thoughts regarding government mind control, a population of American “dreamers” and some odd version of a “dream currency”, and one who “defines terrorist”.  Loughner tagged a video of the burning of an American flag as a favorite, as well as listed The Communist Manifesto, and Mein Kampf as among his favorite books.  Alleged past aquaintences of Loughner  described him as “quite liberal”, “left wing” and a “political radical” in the hours following the shooting.

The fact that Congresswoman Giffords is a political moderate who just days prior to the shooting voted against Nancy Pelosi’s bid to continue as House Leader has been all but ignored by the media.  On the George Soros-funded Daily Kos website, there existed a long rant over Gifford’s vote, with the author repeatedly asserting Gifford was now “dead” due to her vote against Nancy Pelosi.  Daily Kos has since scrubbed the posting from its site, but the evidence was saved and is still accessible via HillBuzz.org.  In the same reporting thread, HillBuzz also reveals that the Daily Kos had put a bullseye mark on Congresswoman Giffords in 2008, wanting Giffords to be eliminated in the primary race due to her too-conservative voting record.

And yet, despite this easily discovered evidence of alleged shooter Jarred Loughner as being quite emotionally disturbed, and if any political description could be applied, it would be of a far left liberal extremist, ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN are all scrambling to develop an ongoing dialogue of the shooting being somehow an offshoot of the heated political debate of the last couple of years – namely the dialogue created by the Tea Party movement and conservative talk radio and Fox News.  Politico reported that a Democratic Party operative even went so far as to suggest Democrats now use the tragedy to take political advantage against the Tea Party and Republicans:

They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

Another Democratic strategist said the similarity is that Tucson and Oklahoma City both “take place in a climate of bitter and virulent rhetoric against the government and Democrats.”

This Democrat said that the time had come to insist that Republicans stand up when, for example, a figure such as Fox News commentator Glenn Beck says something incendiary.

Ah, but where were the outcries within the media and Democartic Party when Barack Obama said the following in 2008?

UPDATE:  Associated Press reports Loughner was a 9/11 “Truther” – a group that believes the Bush administration orchestrated the attacks of 9/11.  The AP report also indicated Loughner harbored dislike against Congresswoman Giffords since 2007 – long before either the Tea Party or Sarah Palin came to national prominence.  A Gateway Pundit report now indicating Loughner was a Satanist as well.  It would appear the truth behind the shooter’s motives are a far cry from the attempted smear against conservatives the liberal media and its Democratic Party counterparts are attempting to manufacture following this crisis.

The Ulsterman Report: “Anonymous” Obama Novel to be Available Soon

Few specifics are yet available regarding the soon-to-be published fact-based fictional account of the Obama administration’s hopes for a second term in 2012.  Publisher Simon and Schuster has been steadily building hype around the book’s release, scheduled for January 25th, while still maintaining a shroud of secrecy surrounding the novel.

The author, simply known as ”Anonymous”, is said to have had personal access to the machinations of the 2008 Obama campaign and initial White House transition period in 2009. Within its reported 368 pages are to be detailed insights into not only Barack Obama, but members of his inner circle and other important politicians and polticos.  Washington DC is currently buzzing over who the anonymous author might be, to say nothing of an increasingly concerned Obama White House hoping the book does little damage as they prepare to begin plans for the 2012 re-election campaign in the coming months.  The intent of the novel, its tone for or against the Obama administration, is as yet, unknown.

Despite the crafty publicity campaign, interest in the book outside of the Beltway remains muted.  If the novel offers up any particularly damaging insights against the Obama White House, that interest will likely increase dramatically.

The play’s the thing
Wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the king…

The Ulsterman Report: Repeal Obamacare – Save $1.3 Trillion

Posted by admin | Posted in The Capitol | Posted on 18-01-2011

President Barack Obama’s massive and far-reaching healthcare overhall remains a dubious achievement of considerable consequence.  Poll after poll shows Americans wanting to see the bill repealed, or at the very least, significantly modified.  House Republicans are preparing to vote for repeal in the coming week.  State governors across the nation are preparing to wage legal battle against the high cost to accomodate the many mandates inherent in the bill.  State attorney generals are challenging Obamacare’s forced compliance requirement, declaring it unconstitutional – a vast overreach of federal authority.

The United States Supreme Cour awaits.

And now, thanks to the good folks at The American Spectator, we have just released CBO comments outlining how the repeal of Obamacare would result in $ 540 billion in spending savings and a $ 770 billion reduction in the overall taxpayer burden that continues to suffocate and hamper economic growth and job production.

Within the CBO report is a decidedly favorable toward government spin from CBO Associate Director Edward Davis – who takes the reduction in tax amount from the overall savings amount and then describes the difference as a an “increase in deficits” of $ 230 billion.  Such math is an example of the ongoing and deepening difference between conservatives and liberals in America.  Big Government liberals see taking less of taxpayers’ money as “increase in deficits”, while fiscal conservatives view it as lessening the tax burden which in turn allows more opportunity for private sector job growth, which in turn actually generates more overall tax revenue.

Despite the version of the numbers given by CBO Associate Directo Edward Davis, his comments clearly point to the high cost of Obamacare – $ 770 billion in new taxes, and and $ 540 billion in new spending – and those numbers don’t adequately reflect the number shuffling aspects of Medicare impacts, greatly increased costs to states now required to fund the Obamacare mandates, increases in agency budgets to oversee and enforce regulatory compliance, and on and on and on.

Instead, take the CBO’s figure of $ 770 billion in taxes and $ 540 billion in new spending and you arrive at the overall cost of Obamacare – a $ 1.3 TRILLION mess being funded by you – the American taxpayer.

Repeal the damn bill – all of it.  Fight it in Congress.  Fight it in the courts.  If ever there was a political fight worthy of the effort, repealing Obamacare is it.
