“It’s the bombs that the government has been dropping around the world that are now blowing up inside the U.S. borders. We’ve got something stronger than bombs, we have solidarity. That dream of revolutionary change is stronger than bombs.”
Sounds like a job for the shooting star graphic …
Obama’s bombing of Libya is aiding the jihadists. Confirmation from an unlikely source of what I wrote here. “U.S. Bombs Libya, Helps… Jihadists?!,” by Tim Dickinson in Rolling Stone (of all places), March 21:
America is now at war to protect a Libyan province that’s been an epicenter of anti-American jihad.
In recent years, at mosques throughout eastern Libya, radical imams have been “urging worshippers to support jihad in Iraq and elsewhere,” according to WikiLeaked cables. More troubling: The city of Derna, east of Benghazi, was a “wellspring” of suicide bombers that targeted U.S. troops in Iraq.
By imposing a no-fly zone over Eastern Libya, the U.S. and its coalition partners have effectively embraced the breakaway republic of Cyrenaica. As you can see on the map above, Libya is a mashup of three historically distinct provinces. As recently as the 1940s, Cyrenaica was an independent emirate, with its capital in Benghazi. […]
Flash forward to 2008: A West Point analysis of a cache of al Qaeda records discovered that nearly 20 percent of foreign fighters in Iraq were Libyans, and that on a per-capita basis Libya nearly doubled Saudi Arabia as the top source of foreign fighters.
The word “fighter” here is misleading. For the most part, Libyans didn’t go to Iraq to fight; they went to blow themselves up — along with American G.I.’s. (Among those whose “work” was detailed in the al Qaeda records, 85 percent of the Libyans were listed as suicide bombers.) Overwhelmingly, these militants came “from cities in North‐East Libya, an area long known for Jihadi‐linked militancy.”
A WikiLeaked cable from 2008 explained that Cyrenaicans were waging jihad against U.S. troops as “a last act of defiance against the Qadhafi regime.” After the U.S. normalized relations with Qaddaffi in 2006, Cyrenacians believed they no longer had any shot at toppling him:
Many easterners feared the U.S. would not allow Qadhafi’s regime to fall and therefore viewed direct confrontation with the GOL [Government of Libya] in the near-term as a fool’s errand…. Fighting against U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq represented a way for frustrated young radicals to strike a blow against both Qadhafi and against his perceived American backers.
The epicenter of Libyan jihadism is the city of Derna — the hometown of more than half of Libya’s foreign fighters, according the West Point analysis. The city of 80,000 has a history of violent resistance to occupying powers — including Americans, who captured the city in the First Barbary War.
A surprisingly readable cable titled “Die Hard in Derna” makes clear that the city “takes great pride” in having sent so many of its sons to kill American soldiers in Iraq, quoting one resident as saying: “It’s jihad — it’s our duty, and you’re talking about people who don’t have much else to be proud of.”

What could be worse than Big Government financing snobby left-wing propaganda services like NPR and PBS with money forcibly extracted from American taxpayers? Only one thing: using our money to finance snobby left-wing propaganda services in other countries:
The BBC World Service is to receive a “significant” sum of money from the US government to help combat the blocking of TV and internet services in countries including Iran and China.
Combating censorship is wonderful, but in light of the virulently anti-American moonbattery that characterizes the BBC, this isn’t far different from throwing our money at Al-Jazeera. Appallingly if unsurprisingly, our rulers do that too.
American taxpayers will be forced to shoulder a burden British taxpayers have been shrugging off:
The US government money comes as the World Service faces a 16% cut in its annual grant from the Foreign Office — a £46m reduction in its £236.7m budget over three years that will lead to about 650 job cuts.
Meanwhile, Comrade Obama has been pinching shut Voice of America’s air hose. Apparently VOA is too pro-USA to put the proper spin on events for the international audience.

On a tip from G. Fox.
Well, you have to hand it to Obama, he is consistent in his extreme anti-Americanism. America is firing missiles into Libya just as the Telegraph reported that “statements of support for Libya’s revolution by al-Qaeda and leading Islamists have led to fears that military action by the West might be playing into the hands of its ideological enemies.”
Throughout Obama’s presidency and all of the Islamic revolutions sweeping the Middle East and Africa, he has sided with the Islamic supremacists at every turn. Taking his marching orders from the vile America-hater and Jew-hater, the devout Muslim Sheik Qaradawi, Obama is now paving the way for an Islamic state in Libya. Not that Libya has been good under Gaddafi — hardly. But there are degrees of evil. The situation can always be worse, and little matches the anti-human brutality of Islamic regimes in the twenty-first century.
It’s ironic that Obama has turned against Gaddafi, since Gaddafi has regarded him warmly, saying in April 2010: “Barakeh Obama is friend…He is of Muslim descent, his policy should be supported.” As meticulously documented in my book, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America, the ties between Gaddafi and Obama are close and extensive. Back in July 2008, Gaddafi endorsed Obama, going so far as to say: “All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency.”
And Obama’s spirtual svengali and former Nation of Islam adherent Jeremiah Wright went to Libya with Jew-hater Louis Farrakhan to see Gaddafi, as he recalled during the 2008 campaign: “When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli to visit [Gaddafi] with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell.”
It didn’t, but it should have.
And Obama continues to side with America-haters and Jew-haters. Obama backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. He specifically invited Brotherhood representatives to attend his speech to the Islamic world in Cairo in June 2009, and during the uprising against Mubarak signaled that he would have no problem with their having a place in Egypt’s new government.
He has backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza, Judea and Samaria.
He backed the brutal mullahcracy in Iran during the Iranian people’s bloody march for freedom.
He has backed Hezb’Allah in Lebanon.
He has backed Islamic law at the UN, having the U.S. co-sponsor with Egypt in summer 2009 a resolution on the restriction of free speech regarding Islam.
And now he is essentially backing Al-Qaeda in Libya. Al-Qaeda has already established an Islamic emirate in eastern Libya, and is playing a leading role in the revolt against Gaddafi. The Libyan Islamist Fighting Group is also involved. They’re a group that is, according to the Telegraph, “focused only on promoting sharia law in Libya, rejecting a worldwide ‘jihad.’”
“Focused only on promoting sharia law.” So they are focused on spreading honor killing, the killing of apostates, clitorectomies, the notion of women as property, amputations for stealing, stoning for “adultery,” hangings for gays, Jewish genocide, ethnic cleansing, and more.
Why Libya? Why not Iran? Iran has been systematically killing and torturing its people since their bloody march for freedom began in June 2009.
Why did Iran, one of the most dangerous threats to world security, escape criticism, sanction and retaliation for its unmatched putdown of the millions who took to the streets for freedom against brutal Islamic theocracy?
Meanwhile, shortly before America fired missiles into Libya, Hamas fired mortars into Israel, injuring two civilians. Here is more of the poisonous fruit of Obama’s stunning foreign policy failure, unprecedented abandonment of American allies, and absolute sanction of Islamic Jew-hatred.
How one yearns for the Bush days when the world was stable. The Obama presidency is a trainwreck, and we are living in a constant state of chaos and agitation. Going from bad to worse, we are living on the edge of impending catastrophe.
But this week there was one bright spot in the news, and an indication of things to come. Barack H. Obama Elementary School in Asbury Park, N.J. is closing. A school named for an unremarkable community organizer who had accomplished nothing, achieved nothing, and was elected in a marketing coup, had to fail. The Obama election was the triumph of style over substance, collectivism over statism, the moron over the informed.
And now Obama’s fierce Islamophilia threatens free men the world over.

That's Rush Limbaugh's description of President Obama, and he's getting more matter of fact about saying so ever day:
So the presidential campaign, here's the question. You got an incumbent, Barack Hussein Obama. Does the Republican nominee focus on what we all believe to be true, the guy's got a different view of the American tradition than all the rest of us? Do we say, does our nominee, does our campaign focus on portraying Obama as anti-traditional American values, do we say this guy is a socialist, this guy's models consist of Marx and Alinsky, do we go that way, do we point that out? Or do we say to ourselves, you know what, most people don't want to think that about their president. There's such reverence for the office that people don't want to think that even if they admit that they made a mistake in voting for the guy, they don't want to think that they've elected somebody who is essentially an enemy of traditional American founding values.
…I guarantee you the nominee, whoever he or she is, is gonna think there's nowhere else you can go but him or her. So they may not think they have to service you in the campaign. They may think we have to offer the red meat of this guy's socialist, Marxist, Saul Alinsky, 'cause they're afraid doing that might lose precious independents and so forth and so on. So they just focus on policy. I'm just asking the question here, what do you expect, what do you want, what would your reaction be?
If you click through to the transcript you'll see that Limbaugh's staff is laughing at him through this monologue. What sort of people realize this sort of poison is mere schtick and help broadcast it? The same sort of cynical mercenaries who staff too much of the conservative movement.

ABC News prominently featured the anti-American television network Al Jazeera on "This Week" Sunday.
Not only was the network's Washington bureau chief afforded a good amount of time during the Roundtable segment to sing Al Jazeera's praises, but as the show neared its conclusion, Sam Donaldson actually thanked the organization (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JAKE TAPPER, HOST: Abed, before we begin, there's been a lot of talk about the Egyptian government stopping the satellite feed of Al Jazeera and Al Jazeera English in Cairo. What is the status of that? And what do you think that says about the way that the government there is trying to monitor the freedom of information?
AL JAZEERA WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF ABDERRAHIM FOUKARA: Obviously, the offices of Al Jazeera in Cairo have been shut down. The — as you mentioned, satellite, Nilesat, owned by the Egyptians on which — on whose frequencies Al Jazeera has traditionally broadcast, has been switched off. So Al Jazeera has switched now to an Arab site.
Look, this is a classic example of a government in the region going in one way and its people going in another way, as far as coverage is concerned. We've heard this story about Al Jazeera from previous governments before.
I don't want to make too much propaganda for Al Jazeera, but let me just say this: Al Jazeera is an imperfect medium in an imperfect world. But the importance of what's going on in the Middle East right now, this is the story of a generation. Al Jazeera, despite its imperfections, has brought this story to 300 million people in the Arab world and beyond. This is a story of huge importance and consequence of the United States. And Al Jazeera is, in its own way, bringing this story to the United States, to the Arab world.
A few years ago, several years ago, Bill Clinton talked of Al Jazeera as a beacon of democracy. Should that be true, and to the extent that the United States is invested in the future of democracy in the Middle East, Al Jazeera will be an asset. It has provided a platform on which people in the Arab world, from one corner of it to the other, have expressed their grievances and aspirations.
For a guy who didn't "want to make too much propaganda for Al Jazeera," he sure did a fine job.
But the best was still to come as shortly before the show concluded, Donaldson put in his two cents:
SAM DONALDSON: May I say just a word — talks about propaganda for Al Jazeera — thank you for what you're doing. People say Al Jazeera fanned the flames here by bringing the fact that democracy is in existence and that people are being suppressed. That's what we need; we need more communication in the world. It's not Al Jazeera's fault…
MARTHA RADDATZ, ABC NEWS: They watched Tunisia…
DONALDSON: … that Mubarak is under a siege now.
GEORGE WILL: On the other hand, we in the media tend to think the media drives the world. And I have a feeling this would be going on across this region regardless of the media.
DONALDSON: But the world drives the world to the extent the world knows about what's happening everywhere else. That's what media does.
Maybe, but that's not what Al Jazeera does.
Did Donaldson and the producers of "This Week" forget that one of its own former reporters, David Marash, quit Al Jazeera English in 2008 specifically because of its anti-America bias?
Apparently so.
And as it pertains to this crisis in Egypt, contrary to Donaldson's assertions, there are some that believe Al Jazeera has indeed been fanning the flames in this region to oust pro-American governments. NewsMax reported Friday:
One big winner has emerged from the tear-gas-laced chaos erupting in Egypt and several other Middle East nations: Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based satellite channel that many U.S. leaders view as anti-American. […]
Al Jazeera “has helped galvanize insurgents across the Arab world this week even before Egypt’s planned ‘Day of Unrest,’ or ‘Day of Rage’ depending on how you translate it,” according to New York magazine.
Observers say Al Jazeera’s reports, which are followed closely throughout the freedom-starved Middle East, contributed to the fall of former Tunisian President Ben Ali’s government.
That revolution in turn inspired the uprising in Egypt. Indeed, Al Jazeera media coverage has been the common theme as the contagion of civil unrest has spread from nation to nation.
One major factor propelling the rise of the satellite channel, according to New York magazine: It helped “shape a narrative of popular rage against oppressive American-backed Arab governments (and against Israel) ever since its founding 15 years ago.”
Is this why you think Al Jazeera deserves thanks, Sam? Is that what you think media should do?

Skip ahead to 5:40 of the clip from last week’s dinner to watch him play the key bit. This story’s now three days old and I still haven’t seen a definitive account either corroborating or debunking the claims — and quotes — from this widely linked Epoch Times piece. Jake Tapper took a run at […]

Obama’s been in office for only two years and already they’re playing Red Chinese commie songs at State Dinners in the White House?
The Epoch Times reports:
Lang Lang the pianist says he chose it. Chairman Hu Jintao recognized it as soon as he heard it. Patriotic Chinese Internet users were delighted as soon as they saw the videos online. Early morning TV viewers in China knew it would be played an hour or two beforehand. At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”
The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”
The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades.
CCP propaganda has always referred to the Korean War as the “movement to resist America and help [North] Korea.” The message of the propaganda is that the United States is an enemy—in fighting in the Korean War the United States’ real goal was said to be to invade and conquer China. The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists…
…His choice was known in advance to CCP officials is very likely.
Here’s the song Battle Triangle Hill played for Obama at the White House State Dinner:
How’s that for hope and change?
-By Warner Todd Huston
The Epoch Times has a stunner of a story for January 22. Unbeknownst to most Americans, China insulted the United States right in front of Obama and the world by having its nationalist pianist, Lang Lang, play a Chinese propaganda song that called Americans “jackals” during the Chinese sponsored concert during the recent state dinner in Washington D.C. Chinese nationalists have been hailing this stick in the eye of the U.S. since it occurred at the state dinner on January 19.
There is little doubt that Obama knew this was going to happen, but that he had no problem with it fits neatly with his world apology tour, his three years of apologizing for the United States in foreign lands, his bowing and scraping (literally) before kings and tyrants the world over, and his constant need to punish this country.
The song was titled “My Homeland” and is famous for appearing in the Chinese propaganda movie Battle on Shangganling Mountain, a film about the Korean War. In the song, American troops are called “jackals” that are “greeted” by Chinese “hunting rifles.”
The report says that there is no way to know if adding the song to the playlist was pianist Lang Lang’s own idea — and he claims it was — but it is impossible to believe that he just added it by himself with the Chinese government unaware of his plan. The propaganda song certainly serves China’s purpose, to be sure.
Lang Lang has been chortling about his propaganda coup for several days saying that playing the song would “help us, as Chinese people, feel extremely proud of ourselves.”
The Epoch Times played it diplomatically and did not speculate on whether the Obama Administration knew that Lang Lang was going to play the anti-American tune, but there is little doubt that it was known. Does anyone believe that the Obama administration would have been so slipshod as to not have known? Who believes that the Obama administration would not have been aware of every song being played that night?
Commies throughout China have been playing this as a wonderful success.
The phrase “right place, right time, right song” echoes Chinese propaganda and is a declaration of victory over the United States. Chinese have been taught that the United States lost the Korean War. A U.S. general is quoted in the propaganda as describing the Korean War as being “the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place with the wrong enemy,” which is taken as an admission of defeat. In fact, the quote is from Gen. Omar N. Bradley testifying to Congress as to why the United States should not extend the Korean War into China.
This sort of underhanded, hateful behavior is precisely why President George W. Bush did not invite the red Chinese to any state dinners or big functions during his administration. Bush knew that the Chinese will take every opportunity to insult the U.S. and he didn’t want to give them that platform.
The fact is that the Chinese are not America’s friend. They aren’t even a friendly rival. They consider themselves to be an open enemy of America. They have said so repeatedly. Sadly Obama has allowed this dangerous enemy to walk all over us yet again.
But with Obama’s contempt for the United States often on public view, it is not surprising that he had played his part in facilitating this Chinese propaganda victory.
UNREAL, IS THIS WHAT OBAMA HOPE AND CHANGE HAS COME TO … Pro-Communist songs played in the White House!!!
A Chinese pianist played an anti-American Communist propaganda song at Barack Obama’s White House State Dinner for Chinese President Hu. Why is no one surprised? Could the Obama Administration be any more pathetic of disrespectful to America and those that fought and died in the Korean War? Obviously, there was no otrage from Obama or his peeps. Let me guess, the Novice in Chief had no idea what he was listening to?
Lang Lang, a Chinese pianist, plays the piano at the White House on Jan. 19, 2011. The music he is playing is the theme song from an anti-American propaganda movie about the Korean War
The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists.
This administration is as clueless as we have ever had in the WH. But wait, remember last year when the WH had no clue there was a Moa Tse Tung ornament on one of the Christmas trees in the WH? But then again, Obama just plays stupid.
Of course Barack and Michelle Obama most likely had a clueless smile on their faces the entire time as they listened to the anti-American diddy. Doesn’t anyone in this administration screen what is done in the White House? I guess this is what is allowed when China owns American debt … they get to play anti-American songs in the White House.
There is little doubt that Obama knew this was going to happen, but that he had no problem with it fits neatly with his world apology tour, his three years of apologizing for the United States in foreign lands, his bowing and scraping (literally) before kings and tyrants the world over, and his constant need to punish this country.
