NPR Celebrates Jared Loughner’s Ethnicity

The cartoonishly moonbatty NPR confirms once again that for the self-styled liberal “elite,” absolutely everything is all about race. Here “All Things Considered” provides a soapbox for a Hispanic leftist delighted with Jared Loughner’s ethnicity:

“It’s safe to say there was a collective sigh of brown relief when the Tucson killer turned out to be a gringo.”

Imagine if the killer had a z on the end of his name, and a radio program brought on some white guy to crow, “I’m sure glad a spic did it!”

Your tax dollar finances this poisonous crap.

Hey, isn’t the P for Public inside a crosshair symbol in the NPR logo? By liberal logic, that means whenever a member of the public is shot, NPR did it. Now can we cut their coercive funding?

On a tip from G. Fox.

Pima Community College Releases Jared Lee Loughner’s ‘Genocide/Scam’ YouTube Video

“Alright, so here’s what we’re doing,” says the man behind the camera as he navigates through a dark parking lot. “We’re examining the torture of students. We’re looking at students who have been tortured. Their low income pay in two wars. The war that we are in right now is currently illegal under the Constitution. What makes it illegal is the currency. The date is also wrong. It’s impossible for it to be that date, it’s mind control.”

That’s how a video Jared Lee Loughner posted on YouTube in September titled “Pima Community College School - Genocide/Scam - Free Education - Broken United States Constitution,” begins. It’s the video that ultimately got Loughner, the gunman allegedly behind the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and the murder of six others, suspended from the school.

About a minute in the video, Loughner encounters a figure walking in the distance who is likely one of the alleged gunman’s former teachers. “How’s it going?” Loughner asked in a cheery tone. “Thanks for the ‘B’ I’m pissed off,” he says in the same pitch. He then walks away, laughing to himself.

The video was obtained by the Los Angeles Times through a public records request and posted to their website late Friday.

“This is my genocide school. Where I’m going to be homeless because of this school,” Loughner says. “I haven’t forgotten the teacher that gave me a B for freedom of speech.”

“This is Pima Community College, one of the biggest scams in America,” Loughner says in the video. “If the student is unable to locate the external universe, the student is unable to locate the internal universe.”

Loughner posted the video under the name under the username “2PLOY,” as TPM reported this week. Shortly after the video was posted, the community college delivered a notice of suspension to Loughner’s home. An officer wrote that Loughner “held a constant trance” and told the officers “I realize now this is all a scam.”

Police Find Black Bag Containing Ammo Near Loughner’s Home

Police in Tucson have found a black bag containing ammunition near Jared Loughner’s house and the FBI is analyzing it, according to local reports.

Investigators have been looking for the bag, which they say Loughner and his father fought over the morning of the shooting. According to police, Jared Loughner took it out of the trunk of his car and then argued with his father about it. When Jared drove away, his father reportedly tried to drive after him, but lost him.

A teenager walking his dog in the desert near the Loughners’ home found the bag this morning and turned it over to investigators.

Police also say they believe Loughner spent the night before the shooting at a Motel 6.

Meanwhile, investigators have finished processing of the crime scene outside a Safeway supermarket and the store is expected to re-open soon.

Loughner’s YouTube Video Called College ‘Illegal’

Under the username “2PLOY,” Jared Lee Loughner — the alleged gunman behind Saturday’s massacre in Arizona — posted a YouTube video in September titled “Pima Community College School-Genocide/Scam-Free Education-Broken United States Constitution.” That was the final straw that brought about the college’s suspension of Loughner, according to police reports released late Wednesday.

But even when an officer from the community college delivered notice of his suspension to Loughner’s home on Sept. 29, there was additional cause for worry. Loughner “held a constant trance of staring” as the officer narrated the past events of what had transpired.

“Even though we spent approximately one hours relaying the information and narration of Jared’s actions that brought him to his current predicament, Jared left his silence and spoke out saying ‘I realize now this is all a scam’,” he said.

From the reports, it seemed clear that administrators and police were disturbed by Loughner’s actions for nearly a year.

On February 5, 2010, Division Dean Patricia Houston reported Loughner to campus police for suspicious activity. Loughner had reacted strangely to a classmate’s reading of a poem in a poetry class. She said that Loughner had made comments that were “a huge leap from the context of the poem” and make unsolicited comments on abortion, wars, killing people, as well as suggesting strapping bombs to babies. Houston called Loughner “creepy” and said he had a “dark personality.” She also reported that another student had emailed the school because they believed Loughner was carrying a knife to class.

Then on April 6, the director of the college library called the campus police because Loughner was listening to music on his headphone and making loud outbursts. When an officer asked Loughner what he was doing, he replied that he often got really into music and he would “excitedly utter phrases and words from the songs.”

On May 17, Loughner became “very hostile” after instructor Patricia Curry told him his final grade for her class was a B. He “threw his work down” and said it was “unacceptable.” When Curry took Loughner outside the classroom to discuss, she said she felt as though the situation almost became physical. Loughner made Curry so nervous that she told police that she didn’t want to hold her final class of the year without “an officer in the area.” Loughner also met with Curry’s supervisor, Susan Heinrich, who reported feeling “intimidated” by the student.

On September 23, 2010, campus police responded to yet another distruption by Loughner. After being told he was only going to receive a half credit on a late homework assignment, Loughner flew into a rage and insisted his freedom of speech rights were being abridged. One officer, J. States, wrote on Sept. 23 that he “noticed during the conversation that Louhghner’s head was constantly tilting to the left and his eyes were jittery.”

“Officer Mattocks and I met with Mr. Conover and conveyed to him through our training and experience there might be a mental health concern involved with Loughner,” States wrote. The other officer, D. Mattocks, wrote “It was clear that he was unable to fully understand his actions.”

Loughner told a college administrator on Sept. 23 that he had not paid for his college courses legally because he had not paid in gold or silver. Dr. Aubrey Conover wrote that Loughner “held himself very rigidly and smiled overtly at inappropriate times.”

Here’s some excerpts from the video posted on YouTube.

Loughner’s Father Chased Alleged Shooter Into Desert On Saturday

In the hours before Jared Lee Loughner allegedly tried to assassinate Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and killed six others, his father chased him into the desert as he carried a mysterious black bag in his hand, the Associated Press reported.

Police also said that at 7:30 a.m. that same morning, Loughner was stopped by a wildlife officer after he ran a red light but was let off with a warning, according to the AP. The officer, the Arizona Game and Fish Department said, looked at Loughner’s driver’s license and vehicle registration information but found no outstanding warrants on Loughner or his vehicle.

“He had a valid license, the car was registered, he had insurance,” spokesman Jim Paxon told the AP. “He was warned and released because we had no probable cause to hold, or do an extensive search.”

Neither AP account says what time the suspect’s father, Randy Loughner, hopped into his truck and chased his 22-year-old son in the desert after the alleged shooter grabbed a black bag out of the trunk of a family car, and it isn’t clear whether that confrontation came before or after Loughner was pulled over by the officer. Investigators, the AP said, are still searching for the bag.

They didn’t, a friend tells Good Morning America, include cable or talk radio — which makes the notion that the political climate was involved in his attack a bit farther-fetched:

He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right.

Loughner’s Former Prof Describes His ‘Illogical-Logic’ Rant (VIDEO)

Debbie Scheidemantel, the adjunct professor at Pima Community College who called the cops to have Jared Loughner removed from her classroom last year, told The Early Show that when she first heard the description of the suspect in the shootings in Tucson that claimed six lives and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), she thought of Loughner.

Scheidemantel described the events that led to her call to the police and have Loughner removed from her classroom.

Loughner failed to bring a homework assignment to class and, along with a student in a similar situation, was told he would only get half credit. Loughner objected and, she said, “He pointed at the flag and the Constitution up at the front of the room and said that I was taking away his freedom of speech, that I was taking away his individual rights, that it was unconstitutional. He was saying that he’s paying me and therefore I’m taking away his freedom of speech if I don’t give him full credit.”

[TPM SLIDESHOW: On The Ground In Arizona: TPM Retraces Shooting Suspect's Steps]

Scheidemantel calmed him down and said they could speak during the break, after which she began the class. But Loughner raised his hand shortly thereafter and requested to do the homework assignment during the break and turn it in after class. When she denied his request, he began to rant again and Scheidemantel alerted the university and called 911 from another room.

The officers removed Loughner from the classroom, and Scheidemantel didn’t see him again until she saw him on the news last weekend.

Ten million Loughners (Barry Rubin)

Posted by admin | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 10-01-2011

A must read from Barry Rubin:

When one crazed or ideologically obsessed gunman starts shooting in Arizona, people condemn him and start bemoaning their society. How about a place with ten million people like that who are treated as heroes?

America this week is awash in a huge and passionate debate over whether angry political disagreements and harsh criticisms of certain views or groups inspired the attack on an American congresswoman (Jewish and a strong supporter of Israel, by the way). I’m not going to enter into that argument right now but I want to point out the Middle Eastern ramifications of what’s going on here.

Every day for more than a half century, Arabs and Muslims have been inundated every day with hatred for Israel, America, the West, Jews, and often Christians. You can read transcripts of Syrian broadcasts or Palestinian speeches from 50 years ago that sound just like what was said in the same places yesterday by powerful and/or respectable figures and institutions.

Let’s say that the proportion of lies, slanders, and incitement in the American discourse is one-tenth of one percent of all the words spoken on controversial issues. The equivalent figure for the Middle East is well over 95 percent.

In addition to that tone, there is not only a total lack of balance but an absence of the other side altogether.

And in addition to those two points, the level of factual accuracy has a huge gap separating it from reality. (Though, admittedly, that gap has been narrowing in recent years as Western standards decline).

And in addition to those three points, while extremists tend to be marginal in the United States, they are in control-either politically or at least rhetorically-throughout most of the Arabic-speaking and Muslim-majority worlds.

Read the whole thing.

Woman Who Grabbed Loughner’s Gun Clip: ‘Extreme Right’ Added To Problem (VIDEO)

Patricia Maisch, the 61-year-old woman who grabbed a magazine away from the alleged shooter on Saturday, suggested in an interview with Fox News on Sunday night that hateful rhetoric was in part to blame for the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and the mass shooting which killed six others and left more than a dozen injured.

“The extreme right reporters and radio and TV have added to this problem, and I’m just hoping that will change,” Maisch told Shepard Smith in her first television interview on Fox News on Sunday night. “That’s my hope, is that the Republicans will stop naming bills in very hateful ways, like the job killing whatever the rest of that bill is, I think that the extreme right has just gone too far.”

The politics of Loughner aren’t clear, but he has had a troubled history which included at least five run ins with campus police, a previous arrest on drug charges and a fascination with bizarre conspiracy theory on the government controlling people’s minds with grammar structure.

Maisch, who grabbed a gun clip as two other men tackled alleged shooter Jared Lee Loughner, said she doesn’t consider herself a hero.

“It was just an extra security to get that away from him, but I think the two heroes were the two men who had the courage to knock him down,” Maisch said.

Those larger magazines used by Loughner would have been banned under the federal assault weapons ban which expired in 2004, Justin Elliot writes in Salon. Former senior official at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms James Cavanaugh told NBC’s Michael Isikoff that the assault weapons ban only banned the manufacture of new high-capacity magazines and that those already on the market could still be sold. Cavanaugh said a more relevant issue was the high standard for stopping those who are mentally unstable from purchasing guns.

Jared Loughner’s Motive Revealed

It didn’t take long for Jared Loughner’s motive in shooting Gabrielle Giffords to come to light: he is completely out of his mind.

Media moonbats have their work cut out for them when they inevitably try to portray Loughner as a Tea Party patriot. Rubber room psychosis has nothing to do with any coherent political ideology.

Via Unsettled Christianity, here’s an example of what Loughner had been posting on YouTube:

Politically, this tragedy is no more meaningful than a car accident. But that won’t prevent it from being used for political ends.

Loughner’s Grammar

Carrie Budoff-Brown tracked down the origins of Jared Loughner’s strange ideas:

Jared Lee Loughner’s rants about grammar and mind control track closely to the writings of a conspiracy theorist who believes that is how the government controls the populace, one leading group says – and the man tells POLITICO he agrees with some of Loughner’s statements.

The far-right activist, David Wynn Miller, said in a telephone interview that he didn’t know Loughner, but agreed with his statement in a YouTube video that “the government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar.”

“Absolutely I would agree with it,” said Miller, 62, a former tool-and-die maker from Milwaukee who claims 1 billion “students” worldwide.

But he said any suggestion that his writings influenced Loughner to go on a shooting rampage is “ridiculous.”

“I have nothing to do with anything like that,” Miller said, suggesting that Loughner might have been under the influence of government mind control.

Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project, first mentioned Miller during an appearance Saturday on MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”

“The idea weirdly enough of controlling grammar, of somehow the government using grammar to control the people is an idea that exists on the radical right. There’s a particular person, a man named David Wynn Miller who has plugged this idea for years,” Potok said.

Miller “claims to have invented truth language,” Potok said in an interview with POLITICO. “His idea is that if you only use the correct grammar and punctuation, you can throw off the shackles of the tyrannical government.”

The Style - Not Content - Of Loughner’s Reading

Posted by admin | Posted in The Capitol | Posted on 09-01-2011

A reader notes something significant in the assassin's reading list. What unites it is paranoia, a sense of others controlling you, of conspiracy theories and government plots, of illegitimate government and its agents of control:

Loughner had very incoherent, hard to classify beliefs. But they were clearly paranoid and conspiratorial.

The conspiratorial or paranoid style is very much alive in our political discourse. F02eb340dca07937a6ef8010.L._SL500_AA300_ Naturally, it's not just a right-wing phenomenon. I live in Berkeley where a fraction of people sincerely think 9-11 was an "inside job" pulled off by the "Bush Regime". There's also the ChemTrail crowd that thought the Republican government used planes to dump toxins on liberal areas to make us sick, disrupt pregnancies, and sap our will to resist. Etc., etc., So yeah, that paranoid style is alive on the fringes of the American left.

But with the Right, it's a bit different. The paranoid and conspiratorial style is much more mainstream, especially with Beck and Fox. On Fox, there are shadowy links between Soros, the Tides Foundation, and other liberal causes that aim to bring America down. Obama is at once fascist and a socialist. Don't forget Palin's dark insinuations about Obama's ties with terrorists and HCR's agenda to impose of Death Panels. Of course, you have questions about Obama birth certificate sadly mainstream when Republican representatives and candidates claim it's still an issue.

My own view is that this is a moment for sane conservatives to control their kerking knee and reflect a little on what they have enabled. If politics is warfare, people will die.
